The physicians that make up Comprehensive Orthopaedics bring to the practice a wealth of experience and specialty areas. It is this diversity of knowledge and training that makes Comprehensive Orthopaedics such a unique and thorough practice. We invite our existing patients and the general public to meet our physicians and learn more about the professional backgrounds that converge to form Comprehensive Orthopaedics.

Dr. Aaron Covey, MD, MBA

Aaron Covey, MD, MBA, is a highly skilled orthopedic surgeon trained to use the latest arthroscopic techniques for many conditions of the shoulder, knee, hip and elbow. He has special interest and expertise in total shoulder and elbow replacement, as well as the management of ligament, tendon and bony surgeries of the shoulder, elbow, knee and ankle. Dr. Covey's area of expertise also includes hip and knee joint replacement, trauma and general orthpedics. He is an avid sports enthusiast and is the Team Physician for the University of New Haven. In addition, Dr. Covey enjoys basketball, ice hockey, softball, skiing/snowboarding, and when he can get away, travel.

Dr. Jon C. Driscoll, MD

A member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Dr. Driscoll attended John Hopkins University where he received his B.A. He received his M.D., as well as completed his Orthopaedic surgery residency, from Yale University School of Medicine. He completed a Fellowship at the New England Baptist Hospital in Boston. This provided specialty training in sports medicine and allowed him to work closely with the Boston Celtics. When Dr. Driscoll is not practicing medicine he is spending time with his family.

Dr. Leonard Allen Kolstad, MD

Dr. Kolstad is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the Anthroscopy Board of America. He attended Wagner College in New York earning a B.S., and Colorado State University earning a M.S. He continued at Creighton University where he received his M.D. For both his family medicine and orthopaedic residencies, Dr. Kolstad chose University of Connecticut. He is also a part of many organizations including the North American Arthoscopy Association. When he is not with his patients, Dr. Kolstad can be seen golfing or skiing.

David A. Monti, MD

Dr. Ronald S. Parét, MD

Dr. Parét received his M.D. from Hahnmann College in Philadelphia. He also completed his residency at Hahnmann Medial College, eventually becoming Chief Resident of Spine Service. In addition, Dr. Parét is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and has written several scientific publications. When Dr. Parét is away from the office he enjoys skiing, boating, and sailing.

Dr. Jeffrey Todd Pravda, MD

Dr. Pravda graduated from SUNY Stony Brook with high honors earning his B.S. He received his M.D. from The Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York. Dr. Pravda was Chief Resident in Orthopaedic Surgery at Montefiore Hospital Medical Center and was a fellowship in spine surgery. He has written several publications on a variety of topics. Dr. Pravda is also a member of numerous organizations including the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the National Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons. Dr. Pravda also enjoys golf and skiing in his free time.

Dr. Paul Zimmering, MD

A member of the Arthroscopy Association of North America, Dr. Zimmering graduated magna cum laude from Brown University earning his AB. He also received his M.D. from Brown and went on to complete his orthopaedic residency in Louisiana. He has been chairman of several medical committees, chief of staff at Midstate Medical Center, and an adjunct clinical faculty member at Quinnipiac University. When Dr. Zimmering is not in the office he enjoys traveling and playing golf.

Dr. Gaurav Kapur, MD

Comprehensive Orthopaedics is happy to welcome Dr. Gaurav Kapur, a new doctor, to its Team of Providers.

Raymond Ryan, PT Director

Raymond Ryan graduated from the University of Hartford with a B.S. in physical therapy and a B.A. in Biology. Raymond has been a certified Athletic Trainer since 1987. When not in the office he enjoys saltwater fly fishing.

Cynthia Desmarais, PT

Cynthia graduated from Quinnipiac University with a B.S. in health science in 2003. She went on to earn her Masters Degree in Physical Therapy in 2005. She has been working in outpatient orthopaedics ever since. In her free time Cynthia enjoys exercising and attending New England Patriots games. Most of all, she enjoys spending time with her family. Her 17-month-old daughter keeps her especially busy.
